Report:
The Rubies went into this game with only 12 players through injury and travel and had the worse start when James B pulled a hamstring and hobbled off after 8 minutes leaving the 11 for a full game. MPR started much brighter, were first to the ball and were passing and moving better than the sluggish Rubies. Gel headed over a Dave K cross and a Paul E cross just evaded the returning Al Griff but the Rubies werent able to get a shot on goal throughout the first half. Poor passing and little movement were the key problems. A good Paul C free kick resulted in a swing and miss by Dan and the Rubies trudged off knowing that a better performance was needed. The second half started better as Dan was getting in some crosses from the right, Gel fell over the ball as he looked to be through on goal and Steve Zirgers free kick to the far post just eluded the Rubies. MPR forced a couple of corners but NS was dealing with the through balls. A Dave K cross was headed goalward by Paul E but their keeper saved on the line. Dave K won a free kick which Chill headed over and then the final play was Paul C heading over Dans corner. An extremely disappointing result but the result of our poorest performance of the season. An easy selection for Honey of the Week was Dave K who lead by example and was at the heart of most that went right. Hopefully a full squad to choose from next week and the aim is clear - a win plus goals. Cheers Rock
