Report:
The Rubies got back to winning ways with a comfortable victory over MA Tigers despite missing several good chances. The Rubies created the early pressure with paul E shooting into the side netting following a corner. James B limped off after 2 minutes and the Rubies welcomed back Mawds up front. Dan was linking well down the right and looked the best outlet for the Rubies. Further chances came, Paul C headed over, Mawds shot wide from Paul Cs knockdown and Dan lifted one over the bar. MA Tigers came close to scoring when a free header from a corner came back off the crossbar. The last chance of the half fell to Fitzy who got through in the inside left channel but shot straight at the keeper. A few changes at half time and the Rubies started brightly creating more chances. The breakthrough came after 6 minutes when Tigers handballed and Fitzy slotted home the penalty. Matt W won then ball at right back and lifted the ball through the middle to an unmarked Mawds who ran through and finished well. Kimchee then headed against the bar and Dave K headed the rebound over the bar. Great chances were spurned when Gel was through but lifted his shot over the advancing keeper and bar, and then after good work by Dan, Mawds rounded the keeper and shot wide from 5 yards when faced by an open goal. The third goal came when good work by Dave K fed Kimchee on the edge of the area who looked up and placed his shot in the top corner. Josh was then booked for a midfield mugging and the Rubies continued to press but couldnt find a fourth. Much better performances all round, Norman Stanley organising the back four, Dave K and Mawds but The Honey of the Week went to Dan who had a strong game at right midfield. The title goes down to winning our last game next week, get on the site! Cheers Rock
