Report:
The Rubies shook off their Cup disappointment by producing a dominant display against Dynamics on the Football Club astro. Dynamics created the first chance when they rattled the outside of the Cat\'s post and ball rebounded to safety. The Rubies responded well with some good neat football and nearly went ahead when Dan T crashed one against the crossbar from the edge of the box. Kevin then produced a neat turn to set up Dan again who shot wide and then Gel shot wide as the Rubies turned the screw. The breakthrough finally came when Paul E crossed and their defender turned into his own net under pressure from Honey Monster. Honey then made it 2-0 when he swept home a right foot half volley after good interchange work down the Ruby right. Half time came and the Rubies were good value for their lead. The team was reshuffled to accomodate 5 changes from the bench. The Dynamics started strongly and the Cat had to dive full length to tip over as he rolled back the years. Kevin and Ben then shot wide at the other end as Mawds pace was starting to trouble them. Dynamics pulled one back after 27 minutes and then the game opened up as they pressed for an equaliser. Diccon, Nursie, Dumbo and Chill were holding them at the back and then Mawds got away, rounded their keeper and rolled home from a tight angle. There was time for the Cat to claw another one around the post before Gel popped up in their box to slot home a deserved 4th. Good performances throughout including Nursie, Dan, Honey Monster and Chill however the sponsors Honey of the Week was Adam Keswick who made some excellent saves to keep the Rubies in front.
