The site can't accomodate double figure scorers (ed fix it just in case ) however the Rubies ran out comfortable 11- 1 winners on the ploughed field at Happy Valley. With no specialist keeper and only 13 available (the manager signed up 2 on Wyndham Street late the previous evening) this may have been a tricky one however from the start the Rubies possession passing and movement were too good for Tigers. X Man scored the opener on 3 minutes heading in a Sssshhh cross and he set up the second for Gel on 6 minutes. Mawds got on the scoresheet himself before the ex Pieman stole across his marker to head in a good finish. At the break, Bingo replaced Ox in goal and the goals continued to flow for Shorty (2), Diccon (2) , Mike Leeson, Mawds and Dave K on his farewell appearance as skipper. The Tigers got on the scoresheet when Bingo saved and then spilled the ball but he redeemed himself to put off their penalty taker who ballooned over. The 3 triallists Joos, Mike L and Ben Osborne all had solid games and will be better for a bit more fitness. A short break now for the World Cup but watch the website for the next game.
